ANIMAL WELFARE-EVERYONE'S RESPONSIBILITY

 

This is an eTwinning Project. Besides being a national, it is also an international project. It

has 22 partners. There are 10 Turkish, 5 Portuguese, 3 Romanian, 3 Croatian and 1

Macedonian teachers in the Project. The founders of the project are English teacher Seher

GUNDUZ and Claudia SOUSA who is a Mathematics, Science and Citizenship teacher in

Portugal. Also, the principal of our school, Ufuk Timur KIRISCI and Science teacher Hülya

OZER are among the Project partners. The main goal of our project is to raise animal

welfare awareness of both our students and society. The specific objectives of our Project are

as follows:

● Discuss some aspects of the concept of animal welfare.

● Adopt behaviors that ensure animal welfare.

● Collaborate in actions to promote animal welfare.

● Identify the 5 animal welfare freedoms.

● Understand the importance of securing some of the 5 animal welfare freedoms.

● Give examples of attitudes that contribute to ensuring the 5 freedoms of animal welfare.

● Collaborate in actions to disseminate the concept of the 5 freedoms of animal welfare.

● Discuss how animal welfare concerns arose.

● Understand the importance of animal welfare, internationally and nationally.

● Learn about the work of some national organizations that contribute to animal welfare.

● Understand the work of different international organizations that promote animal welfare.

● Increase English and ICT skills.

● Encourage intercultural communication.

● Develop social responsibility.
